Lending Your E-Book to a Friend (or Enemy)

Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg, suggests in his video clip below that E-Book DRM software allow for the lending of E-Books. To parallel the realities of a physical lending of a book, the original file would not be able to be read until the borrowed file is returned. (See Daemons Media discussion of Rose video.)

One could push this idea further to copying and excerpting of text for personal social media distribution.

At first I dismissed the “character info” section of this video as silly and not something that i would be interested in, but i think there might be a cool way to tie it with an actual character in an interactive book/game. Could be interesting.

Love the idea of audio and friend annotations. Lending of course.

Great video
