Christopher F. Meatto, Esq.
SHAPER, IMPLEMENTER, TEAM WORKER, RESOURCE INVESTIGATOR
“Upon graduation from Harvard Law School, I practiced law as a litigation associate for 7 years at large New York City law firms. I subsequently founded a law firm, Meatto Russo Burke & Wallace, which went on the represent Swatch and the Swiss Watch industry in both its international campaign against counterfeits and as corporate counsel to the founding of the Swatch brand in the United States. I placed my full time practice of law on hold to found my own fashion watch company long before there were "startups" or the lavish funding of startups. I eventually and wisely returned to my true passion, the practice of law in a very small environment. I shifted my practice to primarily focus on the first wave of tech startups here in New York. I placed that practice on hold for 18 months to become lead litigation counsel in an international child abduction case that spread over 3 countries. I succeeded in obtaining an order in United States District Court for the return of 5 children to an American father living in Singapore from his American wife. I have just wrapping up and a 7 year tenure as General Counsel to a digital health startup which has raised $40 million from more than 500 individual investors. I intend to retain that client and establish a boutique law practice with one or two partners in New York City.”
